As part of a 3 year $3.7 million renovation, Wisp Resort recently announced a rebranding of the Wisp Resort Hotel which will hence forth be known as The Lodge at Wisp. The exterior changes include a new entrance featuring a Porte Cocherč. 100 rooms on all six floors in the Tower Section of the hotel have been renovated with freshly painted walls, new wall coverings, artwork featuring local photography, modern bedroom and living area furnishings, plush bed linens, new mattresses as well as upgraded lighting and fixtures.
The new Garrett County Arts Council Gallery is now open in Oakland  at 108 S. 2nd Street next to the new Cornish Cafe and across the street from Garrett County Historical Society, the Book Mark'et, and Rudys. Holiday hours are Monday-Saturday 10:30-5:30 and Sunday 11:00-3:00.
Cobblestone Hair Salon  is now open in its  new location at Dry Dock Plaza near McDonald's at the lake. 
Taylor-Made Vacations & Sales acquired the Deep Creek branch of Long & Foster.  The old L&F building will be used as a Taylor-Made Professional Building.
Western Trails, LLC is now offering off road side by side rentals. 
  The ccess road, Penny Lane, is now open.  The road connects Fourth Street and Rt. 219 through Dairy Queen and Clear Mountain Bank plaza.  Future plans for the land include a new 40-room hotel and family restaurant. 
 Lodges at Sunset Village is now offering lakefront accommodations and lake access for its guests.  There will also be day-use docks for customer access to Smiley's Fun Zone and Pine Lodge Steakhouse by boat. 
  Massage at the Lake is now open in its new location in the McHenry Plaza.
