Wisp's Sundown Yurt Village, composed of 8 50’ yurts from Alaska, will house the new Adult Ski and Snowboard Learning Centers and Wisp Kids Program, Sundown Café, Nordic / Snowmobile Center and Bathhouse with lots of new restrooms! Just out back of the Sundown Yurt Village are the 2 new beginner trails, Sunset Blvd. & Easy St., serviced by 3 conveyor carpets and 2 conveyor carpets to service the children’s area.
 Mountain Laurel Medical Center now has an office in Grantsville.   
A dollar store is currently under construction on Rt. 219 at the lake near Napa Auto Parts. 
Construction on a $22 million expansion project at Garrett County Memorial Hospital began earlier this summer.  Massaro Construction was hired to complete the project.
 Working H Meats is now open on Rt. 42 and accepting appointments for beef, pork, lamb and goat butchering.  Grass-fed market meats are now available onsite.  
  Grand Central Home Furnishings is now open in a new location at Trader's Landing.   
  A new dog park is proposed at the Deep Creek Lions Club park along Bumblebee Road.  Fundraisers are underway and the 1st-year goal is for fencing and waste disposals. 
 The Cunningham Swamp Wildlife Management Area opened to the public in May.  This 258 acre tract encompasses the majority of Cunningham Swamp, a rich wetland habitat with exceptional habitat for wetland and bog related species.  It is located about 8 miles south of Grantsville on Rt. 495. 
 Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Companyh expanded the fire hall on Rt. 219.  A Building Fund Campaign Drive is ongoing.  Donations can be sent to DCVFD, PO Box 419, McHenry, MD 21541.
