County roads crews are working on an access road, Penny Lane, that will connect Fourth Street and Rt. 219 through Dairy Queen and Clear Mountain Bank plaza.  Future plans for the land include a new 40-room hotel and family restaurant. 
  Deep Creek Donuts is now open in the  retail building next to the Lakeside Creamery.   
An existing cabin is being remodeled and four new hotel-style cabins are being constructed on two lakefront lots across Deep Creek Drive from The Fort. The cabins will be part of the Lodges at Sunset Village.  There will also be day-use docks for customer access to Smiley's Fun Zone and Pine Lodge Steakhouse by boat. 
The HART Adoption Center opened in early April and has found many animals new homes, including Preston with his new best friends, Mariah and Alexis.
The lot is being cleared for the new bowling alley in McHenry.  The property is along Deep Creek Drive at the northern split off Rt. 219. 
Joint Training Facility will begin construction this spring in Grantsville.  The facility will have hard top basketball courts, indoor turf field, batting cages, pitching/hitting tunnels, concessions, indoor running track, party rooms, childcare facility, lease space, rooms for fitness or rental, and, of course, a gym.  
Harvest Moon Market will be opening early this month in Accident.  The store will offer organic foods, full bakery, fresh-roasted coffee, and catering.
A Greene Turtle will be opening sometime this year in the old Santa Fe Grille building.
High Country Creamery and Market is constructing a plant in Grantsville to produce the company's artisan cow cheeses.
  Massage at the Lake is now open in its new location in the McHenry Plaza. 
 A BFS store, Little Caesars and Sunoco gas station are now open at the new travel plaza along Chestnut Ridge Road in Grantsville (Exit 22 off I-68).  An IHOP restaurant will be opening later this year on the site.
